Jeffrey W. Canfield

June 6, 1961 - September 1, 2018

The Canfield Family would like to share the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Jeffrey Wade Canfield of Delaware, Ohio. Jeff was also known as “JW” and “The Man In Black,”

Jeff was born on June 6, 1961 in Huntsville, AL to Helen and the recently departed Carl Canfield. Jeff was a graduate of Berachah Academy. Jeff was an avid bowler, and football fan. His trademark “ownership” of two of the nation’s preeminent collegiate teams, Alabama and Ohio State, was represented with intensity and poignant color commentary. He was a wrestling aficionado, and was exceptionally proud of his collection of genuine licensed replica Championship belts.

Jeff is preceded in death by his sister Karen Canfield Packard, and is survived by his brother Mike (the late Ginger) Canfield of Madison, AL, and Laura (David) Russell of Des Moines, IA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and cyber friends around the globe.

Special thanks to Bridges to Independence of Delaware, OH for providing him excellent support and to his friends in the Delaware County supportive services community and guardians for being so kind all of these years.

His friends, family, and fans will mourn his passing, but celebrate his life and his kindness with a memorial service on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at his mother’s home, with a private interment at a later date in Ardmore, Alabama.

My condolences to the family. I worked with Jeff for several years, when he worked at Alpha. Jeff will be missed by his friends and the staff at Alpha. We will miss his casual visits and his emails - He always tried to stay in touch with his friends at Alpha. Rest In Peace, my friend.
