Michael F. Kasson

February 22, 1982 - February 8, 2021

Michael Francis Howard Kasson, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 8, 2021 at home in Columbus, Ohio. Michael was born on February 22, 1982 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in Medina, Ohio by his mother Susan Morton Kasson-Kurilich and Robert W Kurilich.
He attended Medina High School, class of 2000.
Studied business at Franklin University.
Studied Real estate at John Carroll University
Also learned from the school of hard knocks and self reflection.

Michael considered himself to be a people person and innovator, keeping a white board on his wall, with ideas and plans for his future. He became very interested in financial literacy and retirement planning. Saying he planned on living to 100 and wanted to provide for himself and his family.
Michael preferred to make memories over material possessions, through his many travels and adventures with family and friends. Two of his favorite hobbies were playing darts, whether at home or the bar, and bowling.
Michael’s smile and laugh could light up even the darkest of rooms and everyone comments on how contagious his smile was, always brightening their day.
His sense of humor always kept the laughs going and lifted the spirits of everyone around him, one of his favorite sayings was “if every day you lifted a calf from the day it was born, eventually you’d be able to lift a F***ing full grown cow”.

Michael considered going into nursing, but found his true calling within the restaurant industry, often referring to it as “playing restaurant”, it never felt like a job to him but more of a passion. He truly was a people person.
He enjoyed many years in the industry working at:
Hennigan’s (Brunswick, OH)
Grand Market Cafe (Medina, OH)
Liberty Inn (Medina, OH)
Pizza Shack (Largo, FL)
Tyme Restaurant (Medina, OH)

After moving to Columbus, Ohio he found his restaurant family, expanding his skills as a server, bartender, manager and growing his family at fine establishments such as:
