Linda Kathryn Grover (Kathi)

Kathi Grover, 70, a life-long Buckeye, was born in Columbus, Ohio, and left us to join her savior Jesus Christ, November 24th, 2020. A life-long member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kathi sang in the choir, served on the church council and was the Bell Choir director. In 2008, after 39 years of service at Ohio Bell, Kathi poured her heart and time into the Central Ohio Youth for Christ organization. Kathi’s free time was spent playing softball and volleyball until she discovered golf. She also enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid reader. Kathi was preceded in death by her father Rudolph Lurz, her mother, Edna Lurz, her brother, William Lurz, and son William Michael Grover (Will). She leaves behind her husband of 43 years (Jim), daughter (Shelly), in laws, many nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, 2 Goddaughters, and her parrots (Boo and Edison).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2745 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43204
or The Central Ohio Youth for Christ at 40 Chicago Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43222.
There will be no service at this time due to the Covid pandemic however when it is safe to gather again we will honor Kathi’s life with a memorial service.

Jim I had no idea this happened! My heart goes out to you and your family. Kathi was such a joy to be around and we had such good times golfing at Split Rock and stopping for dinner afterwards. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jim and Shelly.......Know she is now in His House at peace and may you find this peace on earth. Kathy had just sent our Kathy Lauren a thank you box of goodies to N.C as it seems Kathi had asked Kathy to do some research for her. Which of course she did and wow what a fabulous surprise to the Lauren Family They as well as we, Jim and Lorraine are devastated to loose Kathi but understand God needed her as she fulfilled her love for Him on earth and He now for her in Heaven. We are a call away and will stay in touch, for you are the "side kick" and now the head on earth as He guides you to your future. God on one shoulder and Kathi on the other ..... stand tall and feel their love and comfort. DeVere and Nancy Johnson

Jim, Shelly, Edison, Boo and All Those Who Loved Kathi, Never was there a kinder or sweeter soul. My heartbreaks for you and myself at this great loss. Heaven received one of its most endearing angels when she arrived there and we lost one the dearest of loved ones. She lives eternally in the hearts and memories of those of us who were blessed to have known her. May you find peace as she takes care of you from above. With the sincerest and deepest sympathy, hugs, affection, and prayers, Johnna

Kathi understood what it meant to be a true friend! I'll miss our 7:00 a.m. phone calls. She had a glow about her that could only have come from her walk with the Lord. She was one of the most nonjudgmental people I knew. I could go on and on. But I'll end by saying, "which one is the brake and which one is the clutch." Love you and see you in heaven. Diana

I have so many mementos from Kathi. They surround me in the kitchen, in my bookshelf, hanging on my Christmas Tree, hanging on my wall and everywhere in our Church. More importantly, she has a place in my heart that feels the love and support she has left. Until we meet again, dear sister in Christ. Jim and Shelly, you are in my prayers.

Jim, so surprised and saddened by the loss of Kathi. Although, I haven't gotten together with you and Kathi for several years, I have so many wonderful memories of golf and our times spent in Florida. You and Shelly are in my prayers.

Jim and Sherry, Barb and I are so saddened by the passing of Kathi. When we joined the church many years ago she welcomed our family with open arms. She became a good friend and we will miss her very much. Kathi was always so full of life and such a devout Christian women who gave endlessly to her church and God’s ministry. Barb mloved playing the bells and we really loved singing in the choir. Jonathan and Chris will always treasure the times with her in kids bells. Kathi, we know God said well done good and faithful servant when he welcomed you home. God bless you both. The Stump Family

Jim and family, Kathi was a wonderful friend to me. I sense her joy and sweetness still. I know this was unexpected, but she was prepared in other ways. Through her studies and within life experiences. I know she was proud of you and cared for her family deeply. She certainly wanted the best for St. Johns, but I will strive to stay on the path, although it isn't easy without her. God Bless you all, Mindy and Ron Newman

What can I say about my dear Aunt Kathi? My kitchen is sponsored by her generosity (Pampered Chef), and my daughter's bookshelf is full of books she sent us. She loved texting and having feisty debates about politics on Facebook. Most importantly, she loved her family unconditionally. If you were lucky enough to have Kathi in your life, you were blessed because she was a wonderful lady. I'll miss her.
