Michael “Mike” Keith Friend, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Michael was born on April 6, 1954 in Columbus, the son of William Ronald and Beverly Rae (Monfort) Friend. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike is survived by his sisters, Deborah (Jerry) Bennett, Susan (Brian Williams) Wiley and brother, Gregory “Scott” (Deborah Wasserman) Friend. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special family & friends, some of which are from his school days. Mike loved and was loved by so many. He truly had a heart of gold, especially for kids. He was never short of a great story about family members, childhood memories and adolescent shenanigans. He had a great sense of humor. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and OSU football. He was the inspiration as to why some children came to love sports.
Mike will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Mike will be laid to rest alongside his parents at Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala, Ohio.
A private graveside is being held for the family. Due to COVID a memorial will be held at a later date.

Funniest guy I've ever known. I'll always miss talking with mike. My best wishes to his family during this time.
Dan and I have known Mike over 50 years. We lost touch and reconnected via FB and stayed in contact. I will always treasure his ability to make my husband Dan laugh. That was his gift, that sense of humor that left you feeling glad you'd talked. Our prayers go out to all his family and friends. RIP Mike we're glad to have known you.
I miss Mike, my nephew, so much already. Love him 💖. He was a very special person who cared for others too. Now he's in Heaven, a very, very special place for a very, very special person. God Bless him. I love you Mike, from Aunt Nancy.

Our prayers are with our nieces Debbie and Susan and nephew Scott and their families. Mike was such a special guy. His sense of humor and his stories were always so much fun. Rest In Peace Mike and may the Lord keep your family in his care 🙏❤️ Aunt Peanut and Uncle Adam
Mike was such a great guy ! He was a great sports fan and really knew his baseball trivia! He welcomed me into the family! And most of all he loved my four daughters like any great uncle would! We had lots of great talks about lots of old comedians and sports legends, but honestly he loved talking about his nieces and nephews and all their children more than he liked his sports! Love you Mike you will be missed!!
