Bryan Cook

April 13, 1985 - September 2, 2019

Bryan Cook, age 34, of Pataskala, OH, passed suddenly on September 2, 2019. Bryan was a graduate of Licking Heights High School and went on to be employed by Aetna and Kroger. An outdoor-sports enthusiast, Bryan enjoyed soccer, fishing, and boating. Passionate about his favorite teams, Bryan loved the excitement that radiated from inside the stadium while watching the Buckeyes or the Browns.

Affectionately referred to as “Cookie” by friends, Bryan always wanted to bring more to a friendship; more smiles, more laughs, more happiness, more caring, more memories. His selfless nature, giving habits and true love for people is expressed through the number of friends who considered Cookie to be their best friend. He drew his energy and purpose from making others happy. Proud of his Irish heritage, Bryan’s iconic red hair was overshadowed only by his infectious smile and contagious laughter that could fill a room. A true testament to Bryan’s commitment to be a catalyst for fun, laughter, and entertainment is acknowledging the internal burdens and emotional struggles he battled and concealed daily. He always placed the needs and well-being of friends and family over his own.

Bryan leaves behind his parents, Candy and Dale Cook of Pataskala; brother, Jason (Alyssa) Cook of Baltimore; niece, Emmy of Baltimore; life-long friend/brother, Elliott (Mandy) Canterbury; and Elliott’s parents, Betty and Tom Canterbury.

Bryan is missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and his faithful four-legged companion, Bentley.

In lieu of flowers, take time daily to carry on Bryan’s contagious spirit and love for others. Share your struggles, fears and joys, be present and patient in other’s journeys. Love more, talk more, laugh more, live more!

Friends are invited to share pictures and memories on Bryan’s Facebook page. The details for a memorial service celebrating the impactful life of a son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend will be shared via social media at a later date.

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your son Bryan! There really are no adequate words for the grief, questions and missing I know you are experiencing right now. I had the privilege of working with Bryan for a short time at Kroger and he was always kind and had a smile on his face. I pray for God’s comfort to be with you and your family during this very difficult time.

I had the pleasure of being Bryan's trainer at Aetna for 2 back to back classes. So we were in the classroom everyday for the sum of around 20 weeks and he had just left my classroom to be on the floor 3 weeks ago. Between both classes & roughly 40 people combined he impacted each & everyone of us immensely and his absence is nothing short of devastating. On behalf of my classes and myself we will miss his big smile, laugh, heart, and jokes that made training something to look forward to & bonded us for life. To his family I send sincere condolences & prayers. Thank you for sharing this wonderful guy with us! Go Browns

I 'm so very sorry for your loss . I didn't know Bryan as well as some of his co-workers at the Kroger store in New Albany , but he was very kind to me when I came there . There are no words to help , but I hope your treasured memories and the fact that he is with our Lord gives you some comfort and your pain is eased somewhat. Heaven got a special Angel today.
