Harriet Grener Hoffman Offenberg, died peacefully October 5, 2018 at the age of 97. Daughter of Anne and Lawrence Grener, she was born in Norfolk, VA in 1921. She grew up in Columbus. She was married and widowed twice, first to John Boardman Hoffman who died in WWII and then to Richard Offenberg who died in 1954. She graduated from North High School and OSU with a Master’s degree and taught fourth grade at Maryland School in Bexley. She was also one of the founders of Bexley United Methodist PreSchool, BUMP. She moved to the Palm Beaches in 1964 where she taught at Palm Beach Private School and then moved to Naples, FL after spending several years in San Bernardino, CA working for Campus Crusade for Christ. She returned to live in the Columbus area. A world traveler, she was intelligent, independent and opinionated. She is survived by her son, John Hoffman Offenebrg and his wife, Patty of Bexley; her daughter, Kathy Offenberg Moody and her husband, Craig of Piedmont, CA; her grandchildren, Beth Offenberg Sauer and her husband, John Sauer, John Hoffman Offenberg, Jr. and his wife, Signe and Ross Offenberg Moody. Her four great grandchildren are Ed Sauer, Sally Sauer, Theodore Offenberg and Anders Offenberg. The family would like to thank her caregiver and friend Connie Ray for her devotion. Memorial Service will be held 1 pm Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the Chapel at Worthington Christian Village, 165 Highbluffs Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43235.
